HYDRATED LIME
Hydrated Lime (Ca(OH)2), also known as slaked lime, is a dry powder made from limestone that has been chemically treated with water. When limestone is heated to high temperatures, it undergoes a chemical reaction that converts it into quicklime (calcium oxide). This quicklime is then mixed with water in a process called slaking to produce hydrated lime (calcium hydroxide).
Hydrated lime has many industrial and commercial applications, including as a water treatment chemical, a pH adjuster in industrial processes, a soil stabilizer, and a building material for plastering, masonry, and stucco. It is also used in agriculture to neutralize acidic soils and as an insecticide and fungicide.
